About Esther

Esther Haskins has over seven years of marketing and communication experience at large institutions including the U.S. Customs Service, Smithsonian Institute, University of Maryland, and Strayer University.  As a result, she has learned several techniques in support of education, government, and non-profit markets.  After years of apprenticeships, Esther has become an expert at providing communication and promotional needs to stakeholders.  She has solidified her skills in the following communication practice areas:

➢    Social and Digital Media—Facebook, Twitter, WordPress Blogging, Delicious, LinkedIn, Google Adwords.
➢    Online Marketing—Design (html) for the web—quarterly newsletters, e-mails, Web sites, banner ads.
➢    Strategic Communication Planning—Creative briefs, systematic planning of new product launch, and information-flow management.
➢    Collateral Composition—press releases, flyers, brochures, posters, and postcards.

Currently, she studies part-time at Georgetown University. Her goal is to graduate May 2011, with a Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications.  December 2004, Esther graduated from the University of Maryland—College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She minored in Spanish and Latin American Studies.

A strong believer in “Each One Teach One,” Esther volunteers her time providing language assistance to non-English speaking visitors of the Nations Capital. She has also traveled to a short list of third-world countries in her quest to improve the condition of literacy around the world.  Her hope is to make a meaningful impact in how we socially communicate and raise educational awareness.

Personally, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and close friends. Whether biking along the Potomac, turning into an amateur food critique, or walking the historical streets of the Nations Capitol, she finds time to appreciate and enjoy life!
